What is different about the Elite Edge Hockey Showcase?

The Elite Edge Hockey Showcase offers a combination of on-ice skill development and off-ice training and information that no other program and provide.
  • Each player will participate in a full fitness test at the opening of camp that will test his core strength, endurance and quickness. These test results are graded and compared to other players in the program and all results are provided to scouts in attendance.
  • Players also participate in five on-ice tests that provide an assessment of his agility, speed and puck control. These test results are also graded and compared to other players in the program, with all results provided to scouts in attendance.
  • Game sessions are professional style games with officials and three 15-minute stop-time periods. The competition levels of these games are very high and give scouts a good opportunity to assess players in game situations.
  • Teaching sessions with top strength and conditioning coaches that will prepare you for the summer and the coming season. The Elite Edge off-ice model is such to teach you the proper techniques and methods needed to train properly. Sessions include – weight training, nutrition, plymetrics and stretching.
  • Each player (and his parents, if available) will have a post-camp exit meeting with his Elite Edge team coach. This meeting will review his camp report card and game evaluations along with his on and off-ice testing results. This is a great opportunity for the player to receive feedback and advice from his coach to take with him through the summer and help him improve for next season.
  • Seminars throughout the weekend will give players an opportunity to learn more about the different hockey options available to them, information about team in attendance and insight into what coaches and teams look for at training camps. Each year these sessions are very popular with players and parents as they remind players about the commitment needed to play at the highest level possible.
  • We are very proud of the open access we have at Elite Edge between players, coaches, parents and teams visiting. We will do our best to introduce players and teams to each other in formal and informal situations. We strongly believe that relationships built at our program have helped players discover opportunities that have benefited their hockey futures.
