Two more NCAA programs commit to 2010 Elite Edge program
The coaching roster of the 2010 Elite Edge Hockey Showcase grew by two top NCAA Div. III programs this week – with the additions of coaches from Plattsburgh State SUNY and Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Plattsburgh assistant coach Steve Moffat will visit Elite Edge for the second straight season. He and the Cardinals are playing this weekend in the Div. III final four after compiling a 19-5-4 record this season. This seasons Plattsburgh roster included Elite Edge alumni Cody Adams (Cowichan, BCHL) who was also named to the SUNY All-Rookie and All-Academic teams.
“It is great to have Plattsburgh back to Elite Edge again this year,” said program director Brandon Walker. “It is one of the best and most-respected programs in college hockey and having them here will benefit our players. Steve is an excellent coach and has lots to offer the prospects at Elite Edge.”
Also joining the Elite Edge staff for 2010 is Wisconsin-Stevens Point assistant coach Anthony Noreen. Noreen was here two seasons ago and this year was part of a Pointers team that finished the season with a 12-15-1 record.

JANESVILLE JETS ON BOARD FOR ANOTHER ELITE EDGE VISIT
The Elite Edge Hockey Showcase is pleased to announce the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League are back on board for another visit to scout future prospects for their organization.
Janesville coach Dane Litke has guided the Jets to a 18-12-2 record so far in their inaugural NAHL season. The Jets are in a four-way battle for top spot in the North Division with Traverse City, Marquette and Motor City.
“I was very impressed with the quality of players that were at the Elite Edge Hockey Showcase last season,” said Litke. “It is a well run program and it gives teams like ours a great chance to see a number of players and consider them for camp spots next season.”
Hunter Brown (EE 2008, 2009) has spent time this season with Jets organization and Litke was able to offer camp spots to a number of other players following the showcase last June. In all there were five NAHL teams at the Elite Edge Hockey Showcase last season (St. Louis, Bismarck, Janesville, Motor City, North Iowa) as well as two representatives from the league’s central scouting department. Those numbers are expected to increase for the 2010 program.
